What are wheel and tyre packages

Wheel and tyre packages are becoming more popular due to the cost of new tires. When you purchase a set of rims, they are often sold in pairs. This means that two matching rims make up one package. The tire size for each package will be specific to fit these particular rims. If you were to purchase only one rim, you would have to pair it with another tire at the shop to mount them on your vehicle. Buying packages has some key benefits.
Firstly, you can get matched accessories at a significantly reduced price when buying these packages instead of just buying individual components – this saves money by doing away with the need of finding matching accessories yourself or compromising on style or quality factors. Another benefit is that manufacturers are pairing rims with tires that complement each other in terms of size, performance, and style – this means you end up buying products that work well together.

A good example is fitting a light rim and a lower profile tire – this look does not usually happen when buying individual components. It is essential to check the type of wheel bolt pattern for your vehicle. This will determine whether you can fit specific packages on your car or truck.
Generally speaking, most standard vehicles use five bolts per wheel (5 x 114.3). Vehicles like Chrysler, GMC, and some Cadillac models use 5 x 127 sizes, while European cars like BMW make use of 5 x 130 sizing patterns only. Other than these patterns, there are also 4-bolt and 6-bolt designs to consider. Most rims will have this specification printed on the packaging, so be sure to check it out before purchasing. On specific wheels, the bolt pattern may need to be changed for installation – you should have this information at hand when buying accessories as many car parts shops do not carry all bolt patterns.
