Holy Trinity Orange Pealers

The Orange Pealers will be performing at various times during the day including a special tribute to Banjo Paterson. Tours of the tower will take place between 9am to 10am for $5pp.

Banjo Paterson Art Festival and Launch

This art contest and exhibition is being staged to show and promote the wealth and range of artistic talent in the Orange region and the key role of the arts in the city’s celebrated cultural profile. With a theme of Banjo Paterson - celebrating 150 years, there are sure to be some interesting historical artworks.

10am to 4pm at the Newstead Bowling Club, Cnr. Kite and Hill Streets, Orange.

Official launch at 6pm - Gold Coin Donation.

Entry Details

ART EXHIBITION ENTRY FORM (Prize money - to be announced)
Open to amateur and professional artists. Only 2D art can be accepted (paintings, drawings, etchings, woodcuts, sculptures-limited to 1m square) Digital works not accepted. The Theme is “150 years of Banjo Paterson”.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:- Only 2 entries per artist, if there are too many entries only the first entry will be displayed, they must be the work of the entering artist. Work from workshops or copied art is not permitted plus work entered in previous Taste Orange Exhibitions.
The 2D art can be any medium but each entry must be no larger than 1.5 square metres framed or unframed. String or wire must be attached to the back of each painting and has to be strong enough to hang the painting. Each exhibitor must have its title, authors name, address, telephone number and price if for sale on the back of their painting or tag for a 3D work. Artists paying GST need to add another 12% to the sale of their artwork. Any artwork that is not dry, offensive or doesn’t meet the requirements will not be hung. All possible care will be taken but Taste Orange or its art committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage.
ENTRY FEE:- $25.00 for 2 works $15.00 for 1.
COMMISSION:- 25% or 20% for Orange Art Society members or 10% for exhibitors doing roster work .
CLOSING DATE:- Entry Forms and Entry Fees to be in the hands of Taste Orange by the 24th January 2013, cheques must be made payable to Brand Orange Ltd. Late entry forms will not be received unless permission has been granted by Taste Orange.

Junior Chef Masterclasses with Kate Bracks

We’re blessed with an abundance of quality produce in Orange along with some of the country’s best chefs. It’s time to hone those junior cooking skills while having some fun along the way. Hosted by 2011 Masterchef winner Kate Bracks and local caterer Gina Allen, budding cooks will have the opportunity to make some mouth watering morsels in a relaxed, interactive environment. There’ll be 4 sessions each hosting up to 18 kids/teenagers, so get in quick to book your spot! This year the classes will have a bush tucker theme.

Munch and Meander in Millthorpe

Stroll around the historic village of Millthorpe and discover the history, shopping and the food and wine of the village. Gerry's at the Commercial Hotel will be hosting poetry during the afternoon and $5 food and wine tastes will be available at the Millthorpe Station from 12noon to 5pm.

Mortimers Wines Amatuer Poetry Regatta

Enter this Banjo themed poetry regatta to present an original work and be judged by the audience. If poetry is not yout thing, just come along and make uo a table of 8 to enjoy a camp oven buffet for $20pp. Full bar available.
